Cloudcroft and Whitesands

While Tio Johny was here we drove up to Cloudcroft and went to White Sands National Monument. Both were fun, but the White sands was a bigger hit for the girls. They still a little young to get into shopping...THANK GOD!!!
Cloudcroft is a little mountain town in New Mexico. It's about two hours away. The road winds up through woods and even has a tunnel to drive through. They have a lot of little hotels and Bed and Breakfast places. Aparently in the winter time, they get lots of snow and have a ski resort as well! Maybe we'll check it out this winter...
Of course the big hit for the girls was the ICE CREAM store!!!! YEAH!!!!!











White Sands National Monument was what made our trip worth it!!! If you ever come and visit us here, you will be making a trip to see the sands!! We arrived later in the evening, (almost night) becuase we figured, "How long can you really spend in the middle of white sand in the middle of the desert with no water to dive into...sounds kind of lame." Well, we were SO wrong! We could have spent our day there. The pictures don't really do justice, but maybe in the future we can get some better ones!!! We have tons of pictures and video, so we'll post them in a later post as well. We got to watch the sunset and a thunderstorm blow through...both were just amazing and beautiful!
